Estonia and Latvia - Pärnu

Our walk took us next to St Catherines Church. This is a Russian Orthodox church built in the 1760s and named after the empress, Catherine the Great. Estonia was part of the Swedish Empire for a time until 1721 when Sweden ceded it to Russia at the end of the Great Northern War.
